The Netherlands Prime Minister, Mr. Mark Rutte, will be a guest of honour at the House of the Future when he visits South Africa from 17 to 18
November. Here, together with his trade delegation of over 75 companies, Mr. Rutte will explore how to #cocreateSA with their South African partners.
House of the Future will take place from 16-20 November in Turbine Hall, Johannesburg, where key thought leaders and industry stakeholders will
come together to generate solutions for shared challenges in the health, logistics, energy, agri-food and water sectors. The packed programme
includes events such as a workshop on climate-smart agriculture; a glimpse at electronic noses for sustainable port development; a brainstorm on
ecological air transport and an interactive session on 3D training apps for surgeons.
House of the Future will also host high profile events on education and entrepreneurship, including international phenomena such as TEDx
Johannesburg and “Get in the Ring”, better known as the ‘Olympics of Startups’. In CocreateMyCity, students from South Africa and the
Netherlands will work together on challenges identified for them by the city of Johannesburg.
The programme will culminate in a celebration of cultural events in the field of film, music, art and dance. In Cape Town, the Garden of the Future will showcase the first tangible fruits of the NL-SA partnerships in an interactive landscape on November 18, followed by seminars, sectorial matchmaking and workshops on the 19th.
